UBS Hires Two Morgan Stanley Advisor Teams

UBS Wealth Management Americas has hired two financial advisor teams from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in New Jersey and California.

In Paramus, N.J., a three-member team has joined UBS after previously managing more than $200 million in client assets and generating $1.4 million in annual fees and commissions.

That team includes Mario Afram, who now serves as first vice president of investments; Carl Ekroth, vice president of investments; and Harish Jashanani, vice president of investments. They report to branch manager Brian Cain.

In Encino, Calif., a three-member team including Shawn Shafer, James Forsyth and Steven Miller also joins from Morgan Stanley. Shafer now serves as first vice president, while Forsyth and Miller each serve as vice president. They report to branch manager Robert East.
