Raymond James named a new vice president to head new financial advisor training and development for its private client group education and practice management team.

Matt Ransom will start in the new job on August 1, according to a statement announcing the promotion. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing Raymond James' Advisor Mastery training program and its training team.

The Advisor Mastery Program includes "technical advisor and sales skills," according to the program's web page.  Participants are prepared and tested for the CFP certification, as well as life and health insurance licenses and FINRA series 7 and 66 licenses.
