In a new episode of the Financial Planning podcast, financial advisor Chloé Moore explains how she and other planners launched a new summer RIA internship program from scratch.

Moore is the founder of Atlanta-based Financial Staples, where she works with more than two dozen clients. She’s also one of the four co-founders of the BLatinX Internship for aspiring Black and Hispanic planners breaking into the industry at RIAs across the country this summer.

During the podcast conversation with FP Chief Correspondent Tobias Salinger, Moore answered four questions about the potential size and impact of the new internship.

1) When and how did you and fellow BLX co-founders Luis Rosa, Emlen Miles-Mattingly and Shawn Tydlaska come up with the idea to start the program last year?

2) The last time I spoke with BLX in December, about 20 fee-only practices had signed on to hire interns for paid positions this summer. How many are part of the program now and how did you and the other organizers manage to get so many folks involved in the effort?

3) How many interns are doing internships under BLX this summer and how does the program work on a day-to-day basis?

4) How big do you and the other co-founders think the program can get eventually? What do you think will be its ultimate impact if it’s successful?
