Kevin Scanlon, director of the Private Client Group at Stephens, said the firm chose Head for his experience.

"We see significant opportunity in Dallas and under Steve’s direction we will expand our offering in the area and deepen relationships in the community," Scanlon said in a statement.

Stephens is based in Little Rock, Arkansas, and founded in 1993. The firm has 120 advisers, according to a spokeswoman. Head will oversee two brokers in the Dallas office, which the firm expects to grow, the spokeswoman said.

A spokesman for U.S. Capital Advisors could not be reached for immediate comment.
