Raymond James has landed an advisory team from Morgan Stanley.
Raymond James Financial Services, the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based firm's independent broker/dealer, announced Tuesday that it has recruited veteran advisors James L. Switzer and Eric M. Cobb. The duo, which managed more than $180 million in client assets at Morgan Stanley, operates independently as Switzer Cobb Wealth Partners in Spartanburg, S.C with securities offered through RJFS.
We felt the time had come to be an independent business and grow our own brand but we still wanted access to all the resources and support of a major firm," said Switzer in a statement. "The service levels are tremendous and are enabling us to spend so much more time with our clients. We also appreciate the firms technology and back office support, while being in control of our own practice and destiny.
Switzer previously worked at Merrill Lynch for 18 years before moving to Morgan Stanley in 2008. Cobb, who spent 12 years at Merrill Lynch, moved with Switzer to Morgan Stanley in 2008 and the two opened the wirehouse giant's Spartanburg, S.C. office.
We are thrilled to welcome this exceptional team to Raymond James, Scott Whitley, regional director for RJFS, said in a statement. Their client-first and conservative values align with those of our firm, and we look forward to providing exceptional levels of support to them, their practice and, in turn, their clients.
