A financial planning team overseeing roughly $3 billion in client assets is moving to Raymond James from Cetera for wealth management services.

Raymond James — a St. Petersburg, Florida firm with roughly $1.3 trillion under management — announced Monday that a roughly 50-person advisory team at Tacoma, Washington-based Columbia Wealth Advisors has chosen its financial services unit for various types of wealth management and investing support. Columbia Wealth Advisors is part of Umpqua Bank, a West Coast regional firm.

The team — led by Stephen Poole, with 23 years of industry experience — was previously affiliated with Cetera Investment Services. Cetera did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Poole said in a statement that the firm recently went through a process to find the best possible financial services partner.

"We needed a client-focused partner with the technical skills and resources available so we could be confident that neither the team nor our clients' needs would ever outgrow the relationship," Poole, a senior vice president and the managing director of Columbia Wealth Advisors, said in the statement.

Columbia Wealth Advisors also includes Jon Winegrad, senior vice president; Carolyn Meyer, senior vice president; Kristen Dunder, vice president; Adriane Shaw, vice president and senior wealth advisor; Amy Jamison, senior wealth advisor; Bob Reineke, vice president and senior wealth advisor; Brooke Baker, vice president and senior wealth advisor; Carleen Dunagan, senior vice president and senior wealth advisor; Diana Ortiz, vice president and senior wealth advisor; Drew Henrickson, senior vice president and senior wealth advisor; and Edward Ventham, vice president and senior wealth advisor; among others.

"It is with great pride that we welcome this outstanding group of advisors and professionals to Raymond James," said Stephen Kruchten, a Raymond James senior vice president and national director of the firm's Financial Institutions Division, in a statement. "Entering this new relationship, it was abundantly clear the profound respect that Columbia Wealth Advisors and Umpqua Bank have for exceptional client service."
