Six financial advisors bolted from their prior firms for Raymond James.
The Kelton Financial group, made up of Richard Kelton and his sons Ryan and Sean, joined the firm’s independent broker-dealer from Northwestern Mutual. They are based in Latham, New York and made the move in September.
The advisors oversaw $600 million in client assets, according to Raymond James.
Joining them are eight team members including two more advisors, a chief operations officer and several registered representatives.
“Our decision to make the move can be summed up in four reasons: the people, the technology and the access and continuity for clients,” Richard Kelton said in a statement.
Kelton has 25 years of experience, having spent the entirety of his career at Northwestern before making the move to Raymond James. His sons, Ryan and Sean, have four years and two years respectively, also spent entirely at Northwestern.
A spokesperson for Northwestern Mutual didn’t reply to requests for comment on the move.
Kenneth Haycraft also joined Raymond James, signing on with the firm’s employee channel, Raymond James & Associates, from USAA Financial Advisors in Scottsdale, Arizona, in October.
He oversaw $300 million in client assets, according to Raymond James.
“My decision to join Raymond James was three-fold,” Haycraft said in a statement. “It came down to the culture, branding and support."
A spokesperson from USAA didn’t reply to requests for comment on the move.
Haycraft also has 25 years of service spanning seven firms, including Charles Schwab, Merrill Lynch and Chase Investment Services.
