Doris Meister joined the bank's management group as an executive vice president. She is based in Wilmington, Del., but will spend significant time in New York City and Buffalo, the bank said.

Meister is the second executive from Wilmington Trust to join the bank's 15-member management group. William Farrell, leader of M&T Bank's Wealth and Institutional Services division, which includes the Wilmington Trust-branded businesses, is also a member of the committee.

Meister was previously president of U.S. Markets for BNY Mellon Wealth Management, a position she held for almost seven years, according to her LinkedIn profile. Prior to BNY Mellon, she was with AlllianceBernstein for five years.

"Since Wilmington Trust joined M&T, we have accomplished much together, and have focused on serving our clients and developing a strong infrastructure," Robert Wilmers, chairman and CEO of M&T, said in a statement. He praised Meister's record of performance, noting that her addition would help the two entities "capitalize on opportunities going forward."

M&T Bank generated $120.4 million in revenue from its trust operations in the second quarter, up 2% year-over-year, according to the bank's latest earnings release. For the first six months of 2016, trust services posted $231.5 million in revenue, down 4% from the same period last year.
