Former Envestnet executive Dani Fava — an emerging leader in both the fintech and custodian spaces — has joined Carson Group as their new chief strategy officer. She joins another industry veteran, Heather Randolph Carter, named chief marketing officer, Carson Group announced on April 11.

Both Fava and Carter will help expand the footprint and service offerings at Carson Group, an RIA with $35.5 billion in client assets based in Omaha, Nebraska.

Fava was previously group president of product innovation at Envestnet, where she held several different innovation roles during her nearly four years at the wealthtech provider. She will now lead Carson Group's growth through innovation strategies.

"Dani's leadership and market knowledge have been key in spearheading growth, while her forward-thinking approach has been influential in shaping industry conversation around financial advice and the impactful use of AI," Carson Group CEO Burt White, said in the release.

Fava is a well-known voice in the area of AI developments in wealth management. She led innovation at both Envestnet and for eight years at TD Ameritrade Institutional. She was also senior product manager at Fiserv and vice president of product development at Citi.

Fava served on the board of crypto platform startup, Onramp Invest, beginning in January 2021 before stepping down roughly a year later following the sudden exit of Onramp's CEO Tyrone Ross in March 2022.

Fava said Carson Group "is exactly the forward-thinking, client-centric organization I want to be a part of."

"After innovating at both a custodian as well as a fintech company, I've learned that to add life-changing value to investors, you have to get closer to the heart of the advice process," she said in the release. "That's why I'm so excited to contribute to Carson's mission of delivering the highest-quality, most impactful advice possible."

Fava is also on the advisory board for Financial Planning's new ADVISE AI conference, coming Oct. 9-10 in Las Vegas.

Carson Group also gained another force in the industry: Carter, who led various marketing and communications functions at LPL Financial for 16 years, last as its chief marketing and communication officer. She directed the firm's 2021 rebranding and oversaw the conference portfolio, including the widely attended LPL FOCUS.

"Over the past two years, we've begun laying the groundwork for a more flexible, adaptable and accessible Carson Group. To fully realize that vision, we must attract top talent that not only aligns with our mission of being the most trusted source for financial advice, but also brings diverse perspectives and innovative mindsets," said White. Carter's and Fava's "leadership and expertise will be invaluable in shaping the next phase of Carson Group growth and innovation."

White, also a former executive at LPL Financial, recently took the helm of Carson Group after Ron Carson stepped down as CEO on April 9.
