Eight advisors managing $1.2 billion in combined assets have joined UBS, a spokesman said.
The advisors, who left Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch, all joined UBS on February 20 at the firm's Houston River Oaks Complex in Texas.
Morgan advisors Mark Joffrion, Lance Hutchins, Jerry Rasmussen and Becky Hensley joined UBS in Clear Lake, Texas, where they report to Scott Skinner, branch manager, and Craig Vandegrift, complex manager.
Joffrion, who joined separately, has 22 years of industry experience. He joined Smith Barney in 1993 and stayed through that firms' merger with Morgan Stanley, according to FINRA records.
Hutchins, Rasmussen and Hensley operate as the Gulf Coast Group. Rasmussen started his career at Smith Barney in 1993. Hutchins, who has 23 years of industry experience, joined the firm in 1997. Hensley began her advisory career 14 years ago.
Merrill Lynch advisor Tom Drake also joined the Clear Lake office. Drake had been with Merrill since 2009, and did an earlier stint with UBS prior to that for eight years.
Morgan advisors Kevin Wagner and Omar Bitar moved to UBS' office in Beaumont, Texas.
Wagner is an industry veteran, having started his career in 1979 at Merrill Lynch. He later worked at Paine Webber before moving to Smith Barney in 1995. Bitar had been with Morgan since 2007.
Separately, Morgan advisor Jeremy Saba joined the same office. He had been at the wirehouse since 1998.
