2 Depart Raymond James for Stifel, LPL

Stifel and LPL picked up two former branch managers from Raymond James’ Austin, Texas, offices.

Industry veterans Trey Hancock and Roy Sparkman left the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based firm’s traditional employee channel in April in two separate moves, Raymond James confirmed.

Hancock moved to Stifel and has 22 years of experience according to registration records with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. He was formerly with Morgan Keegan where he spent 20 years before moving to Raymond James earlier this year when the two companies officially merged. At Stifel, he will operate as a senior vice president.

Sparkman, who joined James E. Bashaw & Co, a financial services firm affiliated with LPL, was a first vice president at Raymond James and had been branch manager of another branch in Austin until a year ago. He has just under three decades of experience and had been at Raymond James for 15 years, according to FINRA records. Sparkman said he had been contemplating going independent for a couple years and finally decided to make the move because the timing made sense.

“It was just the right time to go independent,” he said in an interview. “I wanted to be independent, and I felt like I’d been in it since 1984, and I had clients that would stay with me.”
