Four years after the credit crisis threatened to topple the entire American economy, regulatory authorities like the SEC and FINRA have limited the freedom of numerous financial institutions in terms of capital requirements and how they distribute that capital. As a result, preservation of personal finance is as important as it ever has been, and yet the financial planning profession does not receive as much attention as it probably should.
