A team that managed more than $700 million in client assets has signed on with Raymond James' independent channel, the firm said.
Confluence Financial Partners of Pittsburgh was previously a part of the Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network. All three of the group's advisors boast more than 20 years of experience in the securities industry: senior advisor Greg Weimer has been in the business for 27 years, while Jim Wilding and Kurt Kimmich have 22 years of experience, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records.
Both Wilding and Kimmich worked on the employee side at Wells before going independent in 2009, according to BrokerCheck. Weimer spent nearly a decade with American Funds Distributors before signing on with the wirehouse's independent channel.
The team specializes in financial planning with high-net-worth clients. Confluence provides in-house succession planning and a business development support system, which made for a right-fit with Raymond James, according to a statement announcing the move.
"We decided to partner with Raymond James because of our shared belief system," Weimer said in the statement. "Like Raymond James, Confluence was founded on a true commitment to clients and acting in their best interests."
Weimer also said Confluence expects to add advisors and open two new offices within the next few months.
"We fully expect to be at a billion dollars of assets under management within a year," he said. "Our partnership with Raymond James will be a great resource as we continue to serve our clients and attract experienced advisors."
The move comes more than a week after Raymond James reported its advisor ranks totaled 6,507, a record for the firm. Wealth management profits rose 6% during the last quarter.
